General Questions

  • What is the NAILD LS-C Certification program?
The NAILD LS-C Certification program is a structured training and certification process designed to educate professionals on lighting controls. The program includes virtual and in-person training sessions, culminating in a proctored exam.
  • How does this differ from the old LS-C offered by NAILD?
This is a completely new certification that greatly expands upon the old LS-C certification. Holders of previous versions of the LS-C will need to attend the new certification program to maintain their LS-C status.
  • Who should I contact if I have questions?
For any questions or concerns, please reach out to Erin Sturm at the NAILD office Erin@NAILD.org.

Ongoing Education and Recertification

  • How do I maintain my certification?
Certified professionals must attend one 15-minute NAILD LS-C webinar per year (live or recorded) to stay up to date with endorsing brands and new developments.
  • How long is the certification valid?
The certification is valid for three years. To maintain certification after three years, students must complete a 1-hour on-demand recertification video and pass an online test.
  • Are additional CEUs required?
No, CEU’s outside of the annual NAILD LS-C webinars are not required for maintaining certification.
  • What if I want to take another track?
Information regarding an expedited version of the training for repeat students will be available in the future.
